Playing Catch Up

We were so lucky to have Emily come and visit for Christmas. We had lots of fun and can't wait to see you again. Hopefully in NY next time---hmmm, wishful thinking. We love you!

Hope you had a nice b-day Dave! We love you.
I think Ana's eyes look crazy here.

Mya's 5th birthday was Sept 22, 2009-- right after Rachel's wedding & reception. We had a big family party a couple days earlier since amost everyone was still in town, and ate lots of cake and leftover reception food (which is all captured on my video camera). On her actual b-day, we were all sick of sweets, so I had her blow out candles on a smiley face assembled out of fruit. She loved it (even though it looks kinda' lame)!

And Christmas is also captured on my video camera, which I don't know how to upload..so here are a few shots of how cute the girls looked in their fancy dresses and holiday earrings from Great Grandma.

Did you know that Santa is in our ward? Ana does. Ever since Bro. Miller dyed his hair and beard white--she has been excited to greet and hug him at church each week in December. At the Christmas Party she went and sat next to him as he was eating his ham & potatoes (and no, he was not in costume) and asked him at least 5 times if he, Santa, would chase her around the gym. She also kept trying to run out of the gym to find the reindeer who she assumed were outside somewhere on the lawn. The first week in January when Bro. Miller shaved his beard and buzzed his hair, she wouldn't go near him when he came over to say hi. She had no idea who he was. We had to explain to him that Ana knows Santa went back to the North Pole, and she didn't recognize her favorite friend anymore. I felt kinda' sad for him because he lost a friend :(

And honestly, neither Brian nor I recognized him at first either. He had long hair and a long beard when we moved into the ward, and the shave took at least 20 years off of him. It was pretty weird!
