Mya's Swim Lessons

Both Mya and Ana completed swim lessons at the Clearfield Aquatic Center. Here are some pictures from Mya's last day, plus a video of her swimming!! She holds her breath like a fish, and swims the best in her class. Way to go Mya!Her teacher gave her a flavor ice on the last day. She was soooo excited about it.
This looks like she is treading water, but actually she is standing.
Mya would rather play with her teacher, than actually swim. Like I said, she yearns for love and attention ALL THE TIME.They had a mini lesson on water safety where they wore life vests. Mya's had the extra floatie behind her neck, and she couldn't stop laughing when she couldn't turn her self onto her stomach. It was funny :)

Dang it-- my SD card ran out of space again!!!

In a nutshell....

I have given Mya the "chore" of emptying the silverware basket. I would estimate that she groans about this 80% of the time, but at least she does it. I try to remember to empty the dishwasher every morning before Mya goes to school, but occasionally it gets busy and I forget. In that case, the chore is passed on to Ana because she has all morning to complete it and I need it emptied. So, here is my analogy; The girls are each similar to how they organize the silverware drawer.
Ana likes one on one attention and gets jealous when anyone else is getting affection. She is has a very sweet little voice and most times, easy going temperment. She likes things organized and she will spend hours setting things up the way she likes them. When she is having fun, everyone around her enjoys her cute laughs. She usually wants to do things by herself, and has an amazingly long attention span!

Mya loves to live life and have fun. She always has to know what is going on and be in the center of everything-- good and bad. Mya has a super fast brain like Brian (ADHD?) and loves to be friends with everyone. She hates it when she is not in control, and she will let you know it! She yearns for affection, and will drop anything she is doing, if you will hold her and give her hugs and kisses.
We love you girls!

Wall-e, Resident Lunatic

Ana and I have been on the trampoline for almost 2 hours now (jumping, reading, snacking, etc), so we had a great view of Wall-e's craziness today. He dug 2 holes under the tool shed super fast like a crazy dog, barking and howling to get at something.
Then, I guess he either jumped down there or fell in, because next thing I knew, he was no where in sight and he wasn't making a peep even when I called for him. Finally he started crying and I knew he was under there. I guess the hole was big enough to get in, but not quite big enough to get out. After a little more digging and crying he finally dug himself out. Then he spent the next 5 minutes running around the yard as fast as he could. Like he was in a race to cover every square foot of the yard. He is FILTHY, but Brian says he will wash him tonight. Whew! That dog is a lunatic.
Ana decided to use some of Dad's hair goop so her trampoline style would stay.

Firehouse Trip with Ana Banana

The ward had a field trip to the firehouse one morning, so while Mya was playing at school, I took Ana. Luckily she liked it, and even wanted to wear the hat!
FYI- Ana had almost a whole pack of fruit snacks shoved in her mouth the entire time we were in the garage. (which is a completely regular thing these days) So, if you are wondering why she looks like a chipmunk in most of the photos, now you know.Argh, Matey!
The sirens go on..... Ana stares, and at least 3 other kids start screaming or crying.

While the firefighter was explaining how every family should have an outside meeting place (not in your backyard) in case there is a fire-- the bells went off and the crew ran off on a call. Luckily the Assistant Chief was still there, and he finished the tour for us.Did you know that the city of Layton has 3 stations which each house 5 firefighters plus a Chief at all times of the day? Each firefighter works 48 hours (two straight days) at the station. During the day they are supposed to be training or studying if not on a call. Only in the evening can they watch tv, and finally sleep in their firehouse bedrooms as long as the city doesn't need them.
This firehouse had a long wall where there were frames of retirees, plaques of Honor, and tributes to those who died in the line of duty. It was sad to see how many young men had died, just in this area, over the past few decades. We are very thankful for their service and the examples they give us.
Totally off the subject....I noticed that if I smile super big (like right here)-- you can totally see my CROWS FEET so I have been practicing smiling just a teeny bit less, and wah-lah... they disappear!

Treehouse Museum with Adrienne

The Ogden Temple is right across the street...and it was VERY sunny!The Treehouse Museum is a non-profit children's museum which has all kinds of random things to play in and play with. We have been twice so far (once with Rachel-- photos on my broken SD Card) and now with Adrienne. They call it the Treehouse Museum because there is this huge (fake) tree in the middle of the building, which envelops a spiral staircase to get to the 2nd floor.

The girls visited the Oval Office because I decided they should practice their manners for when we are really there (heehee). Ana just ran all over the room looking at the walls, and picked up things on the desk, but Barack just smiled.
Mya insisted that Barack let her sit in his chair, and he didn't put up a fight. What a nice guy!

Ana loved this room-- of course. Dolls, dollhouses, and tea parties.
Queen Mya finally found a proper place from which to rule her kingdom.
It was funny watching Ana try to pick up these pieces that were almost her size.
Sometime I am going to find Ana a little rocking chair because she absolutely loves them. The Primary Exhibit at the West Temple Museum has a few also, and that's where she spends most of her time whenever we are there.

For those of you who don't already know... Ana LOVES fish and aquariums.
Adrienne helped Mya make a bird in the "Art Garden".

Easter Egg Hunt

The girls went to the Clearfield City Easter Egg Hunt this morning. The city park is divided into sections by age, then they yell "Go!" and hundreds of kids scramble to collect as many scattered eggs as possible. All of the eggs were gone within ninety seconds, since they weren't hidden at all. The girls each came away with about 6 eggs. Since my camera didn't have batteries in it at the park, here is our re-creation in the front yard. The girls had fun, but I think Ana has already crashed at least 3 times from sugar highs-- and that is no fun for the rest of us!
