Classic Fun Center 11/6

On "Family Night" we went skating with Mya and Ana. Mya hasn't skated for awhile, and is usually a little scared to go out by herself, but this time she did excellent! Check out the video of Mya holding her balance even with her hands in her pockets. :)



The skating rink allows strollers on the floor, so we pushed Ana for awhile. She LOVES the blackouts, and bright lights.

When she became bored of sitting, she rode on the horse merry go round at least 10 times. She would start on one horse, go around a few times and then say, "All done!". This meant that she was ready to switch to the next horse. She made sure that she alternated through the yellow, white, and black horses before the time was up. When another kid tried to get on with her, she started yelling, "No, no, no, no--Off!". I guess the kid was not aware that Ana required all 3 horses.


Mya really enjoyed playing air hockey against Brian. She is actually really coordinated, and pretty good at it!

Castleheights Playground

There is a huge castle playground in Fruit Heights where we took the girls. We played on the swings, slides, tire swing (which brought back lots of bric-a-brac memories, Jes), went exploring through the forest by the creek, and played a few tetherball games until we were worn out. It was lots of fun, and the most beautiful day!

Happy Halloween!

Since it was too warm for the girl's to wear their lion (Mya) and Unicorn (Ana) costumes, they decided on fairy and ballerina. We went trick or treating through the neighborhood, and ended with a trunk or treat. The girls have TONS of candy, and it was lots of fun!

Pumpkins & Corn Mazes

Today we took Ana to the Black Island Farms Fall Festival with our church group while Mya was in school (on a firehouse fieldtrip). We went on a hayride, cut our own pumpkin from the patch, completed the corn maze, played on the giant slides, and visited with the animals. It was lots of fun, and a gorgeous day!

And so you don't think Mya missed out on too much-- a couple weeks ago we took Mya on a hayride to pick out a pumpkin at a local nursery. Unfortunately it was freezing and raining, but we had a nice time anyway.

Ana

I have posted tons of Mya stuff lately, so here is my little summer photo tribute of Ana. We love you little Ana Banana!

I want my hair like Grandma Ann today!

Ever since we left Milwaukee, Mya has been spending a lot of time in the bathroom with the door closed, and water on. When she finally comes out, I ask her what she has been doing, and she says "I was doing my hair like Grandma Ann!". So-- we know Mya doesn't really have bangs, but she tries her best to be like Grandma :)

One of Mya's b-day presents was a gift card to ToysRUs from Rachel. We went down every aisle showing her options and debating whether the toy would hold her attention more than 5 minutes. She chose a pink guitar that plays all sorts of music and beats. She absolutely loves it! Mya says, "Thank you for my present Tia Rachel. I love it! I love it! Thank you, Good bye, I love you!". And so here is just a snip-it of Rock Star Mya. TURN THIS WAY UP TO HEAR IT.

Mya Dances

TURN YOUR VOLUME WAY UP FOR THIS! So, I think most of you know that Mya and Ana both REALLY love to dance and sing. Last night Brian had to volunteer until really late at a United Way function, so we danced for at least 2 hours downstairs by ourselves. We took turns watching each other from the couch and encouraged and complimented each other on our skills. I danced for awhile while Mya concentrated on my moves, completely engrossed in what I was doing. Every once in a while she would shout, "Ohhh Mommy, that was soooo cool! I'm going to try that!" Then when it was her turn she would want on the same exact song, and try the steps she could remember at various parts of the song. I know that most of what she is doing in the video just looks like a little kid dancing, but I can totally tell what she was trying to imitate, so it's probably a lot cuter, funnier, and more amazing to me than to anyone else. I also think it's really neat that she can actually feel the beat, and adjusts her moving based on the tempo. She is going to win all sorts of competitions :) heehee. (Ana was also dancing, but I will have to video her next time.) FYI- My camera ran out of space, so that's why the dance was cut short.

Growing up!

I know everyone's kids grow up, but I just can't believe how these little faces have grown. The once blank staring, timid, and apprehensive expressions have been replaced by huge warm smiles with tons to say!! We love you Mya and Ana!
